WHO WE ARE

Drink Well is a youth-led initiative fiscally sponsored by a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This structure allows us to operate as a mission-driven program while ensuring full financial transparency and nonprofit compliance.

All donations are processed through our official nonprofit partner and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

To implement our water projects, we partner directly with Water to Thrive, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that specializes in building sustainable, community-owned water wells across East Africa

MEET LUCAS

Lucas founded Drink Well as his Bar Mitzvah project, honoring both sides of his heritage and the values of responsibility, service, and community that shaped him.

Growing up hearing stories from his grandfather about fetching and sipping water as a child, Lucas began to understand that access to clean water is not universal. In parts of East Africa, families still walk miles each day for unsafe water.

He set out to fund one well.

In under 30 days, that first well was fully funded. When construction was complete and more than 350 people gained long-term access to clean water, Lucas realized something powerful: one student could create measurable impact.

He knew it could not stop there.

Lucas formally launched Drink Well as a fiscally sponsored 501(c)(3) initiative through Hack+, creating a structured nonprofit foundation with financial transparency and tax-deductible donation status. With that framework in place, Drink Well could grow responsibly and sustainably.

From there, Lucas began expanding the movement. He launched Water Clubs in schools, bringing together students who wanted to take action rather than simply talk about global challenges.

Today, Drink Well has funded three wells. One Los Angeles High School Water Club has over 45 student members, and a Connecticut chapter now has more than 25 students leading fundraising and awareness efforts in their own community.

Lucas believes young people do not have to wait to lead. With the right structure, partnership, and determination, students can build real infrastructure and create lasting change.

Drink Well is living proof.
